Sometimes it can be really nerve racking to speak in public about something your really passionate for fear or being laughed at or not being agreed with, but honestly everyone is nervous they just know how to curve it with excitedly knowing that it will help them to be able to grow and do it more often. It’s just like a competition the first time is scary but it will get easier.
When I use to speak publicly I would make sure to look at the wall or something that is not the direct audience so I’m not aware of how many people are in the room. I also would think about a specific word so that it would limit the noise in the room.
One of my biggest tips is being able to know that your only going to be up there temporarily and that people will believe what they want to believe. It is not your job to change their minds. Focus on the positive reason for what you are doing.
Obviously there are so many reasons that you could be doing public speaking but just remember to speak clearly and at a moderate pace. No one is judging you unless it’s an actual public speaking contest. If that case make sure to rehearse it over and over in front of the mirror until it’s memorized.
I believe that all great leaders are taught to become great speakers. Things take time and practice. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Make sure to be confident and go and have a blast.
